Welcome to Glenn Lipton, MD, conveniently located in Santa Monica. The specialty of Pain Medicine is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of painful disorders. Dr. Lipton applies advanced medical skills to draw from a wide range of therapeutic modalities to design a treatment program tailored to each patient's specific needs.

Glenn Lipton, MD
Dr. Glenn Lipton received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky. He went on to an Internship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and a Residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. Dr. Lipton then completed a prestigious, ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Kentucky in Lexington in the Division of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Lipton is Board-Certified in Pain Medicine under the American Board of Anesthesiology, and Addiction Medicine under the American Board of Preventative Medicine, the gold-standard credentials as recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). In addition, Dr. Lipton holds further certifications from the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP) and the American Board for Pain Medicine (ABPM). Dr. Lipton served as an ABIPP board examiner, lectures and instructs other physicians around the country on new surgical techniques, and keeps his knowledge and skill set current by holding active memberships in over eight of the national pain societies.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Lipton has focused his practice on the evaluation and treatment of chronic pain disorders. This involves the use of thorough medical history evaluations, physical examinations, and utilization of sophisticated diagnostic testing. Treatment plans are then developed, emphasizing the least invasive modalities. These include the use of non-narcotic medications, and referrals for physical therapy, acupuncture, and chiropractic treatments. As a specialist in interventional techniques, Dr. Lipton can provide a variety of injections, procedures, and surgical options if needed. These include everything from trigger point and epidural injections to the most advanced treatments such as spinal cord stimulators, and mild (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression). Dr. Lipton embraces cutting-edge treatments that are medically sound and scientifically proven. As part of his commitment to education, Dr. Lipton travels the country to instruct elite pain management physicians. This includes teaching the latest theories in the use of medications (such as Lyrica) and advanced interventional techniques (including mild). Performing thousands of successful interventional procedures each year, Dr. Lipton brings a unique combination of formal training and practice experience to help patients work towards a pain-free life.
Jessica Agtarap, Medical Assistant
Jessica graduated from UC Irvine in June of 2018 with a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior. Her passion for medicine started with her involvement in providing care for grandparents, visiting nursing homes with her mother, and volunteering at a bariatric clinic. Jessica joined the pain clinic as a front and back office assistant in April of 2019. She hopes to continue graduate studies to become a Physician Assistant in the future.
Wendy Vasquez,
Medical Assistant
Wendy became a Medical Assistant in 2005 after graduating from high school. She has worked in the medical field for over 12 years and came to our office in July 2016 bringing a wealth of experience from working in a OB/GYN office. Currently she oversees new patient referrals, scheduling, insurance verification, authorizations, and back office duties. Wendy is a native Californian and a mother of a beautiful daughter.
Monica Gutierrez, Medical Assistant
Monica graduated from UCLA in December of 2017 with a degree in Psychobiology and a minor in Global Health. Her passion for medicine started with her involvement in many community outreach projects to provide health and medical services for underserved communities. Monica joined the pain clinic as a front and back office assistant in February of 2018. She hopes to continue her graduate studies to become a medical doctor in the future.
Sarah Miller, MD
Dr. Sarah Miller is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician and the wife of Dr. Glenn Lipton. Dr. Miller is a native of Los Angeles, who attended high school at the Brentwood School, medical school at USC, and was chief resident in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program at the UCLA/VA Multicampus program. Like many of her patients, Dr. Miller enjoys athletics and adventure, and has scaled Africa’s Mt. Kilamanjaro. Dr. Miller works very closely with Dr. Lipton in performing electromyogram and nerve conduction studies.
